The German Shepherd is known as a guard, military, and police dog and a very dependable breed.  American Kennel Club states that the German Shepherd is one of the most popular breeds in the United States.  Along with being a great guard dog the German Shepherd is a show competitor and a faithful family companion.  The German Shepherd is fearless with a muscular body.
