We started our mini retriever lines back in the 90s, breeding small unpedigreed lab looking/acting dogs into our small lab line. We originally called them mini labs and changed that to “mini retriever”. Our goal is 35 to 45 pounds, some a little smaller or larger. We have selected them for temperament, size, health, companionship for over 25 years. The lines breed true so technically are purebred.
These guys will do anything a regular Labrador retriever will. They have great nose, prey, bird instincts and love to retrieve. Mini’s are well suited as home companions, loving to cuddle, fetch, and generally wanting to please you. Upland and waterfowl hunting, shed hunting and deer tracking as well as SAR and detection dogs are all on their list of capabilities.
They come in regular solid lab colors and a variety of spots, speckles and merles.
